LOCAL MODEL TOOL
Polygon Reducer for Static 3D Models
Reduce triangles in an existing GLB, OBJ or STL. Choose a percentage or triangle target, compare the wireframes and download the same format. Embedded GLB textures and UVs are retained; inspect the result for surface changes.
Free local-file processing and export. No sign-in or credits required. Your file stays in this browser. Studio AI generation and exports follow the existing plan rules.
3 / Compare and download
Choose a model to preview it. Drag to rotate; pinch or scroll to zoom.
Download format matches the input. Coordinates and orientation are preserved; OBJ is geometry/UV only, without an MTL package.
Supported files and limits
Use an uncompressed, self-contained GLB 2.0 with embedded PNG/JPEG textures and standard PBR materials, a standalone triangle OBJ, or an STL. Animation, bones, morph targets, compressed meshes and external resources are rejected. Textures may be re-encoded during GLB export; fewer triangles do not guarantee a smaller file.
UV and material seams remain separate. Open-border locking is optional. Sharp or fragmented meshes may keep more triangles than requested. Compare the shape and reopen the exported file in your target viewer, engine or slicer.
Need a model first?
Generate a draft in Image3D Studio, export it under your plan, then select that local file here. Decimation reduces an existing mesh; low-poly art style also depends on silhouette, topology and materials.

Frequently asked questions
Does reducing polygons preserve textures?
Embedded PNG/JPEG textures, UV coordinates and standard PBR materials stay with supported GLB files. Simplification can still distort textured surfaces. Compare the before and after views and reopen your export. OBJ material files are not loaded; STL has no textures.
Why did the tool miss my triangle target?
The error limit, open borders, UV seams and material boundaries can stop further reduction. The result shows the actual triangle count. You can raise the error limit or unlock open borders, then inspect the changed shape. A target is not a guaranteed result.
Can I reduce an STL for 3D printing?
Yes, for supported static STL files. Coordinates stay in the input scale; STL itself stores no unit. Inspect thin walls, holes, dimensions and layers in your slicer. Reduction does not repair a mesh or prove that a physical print will succeed.
How many triangles should I keep?
Use the budget of your target engine, device and scene. Compare silhouette, texture placement and frame performance at the size the asset will appear. There is no single triangle count that fits every game, web viewer or print.
Is this a low-poly AI generator?
This tool reduces an existing mesh. It does not generate a new model or create a dedicated low-poly art style. To start from an image, use Image3D Studio, export a model under your plan, then choose that local file here.
How does this compare with Blender Decimate?
This page offers a local browser workflow for supported static files. Blender provides a broader editing environment and its Decimate modifier for manual cleanup workflows. Whichever workflow you use, inspect the output instead of relying only on the reduction percentage.
